Fourth of July weekend brought gun violence across the country. Greenville, South Carolina was one of the impacted communities. A shooting occurred in a nightclub that resulted in the death of two individuals and the injury of eight others. Law enforcement suspects gang involvement, but has made no arrests at this time.

This is not the first shooting to occur at Lavish nightclub. Local residents and law enforcement both referred to previous acts of violence at the club and have expressed a need for change. Further, another nightclub down the street, Dolce, also had a shooting this weekend. A security guard was injured in the altercation.
